deGrom under weather, Mets juggle rotation

Another ailment struck a Mets rotation member this week, when Jacob deGrom complained Wednesday of nausea and an upset stomach in Miami. DeGrom received treatment at Marlins Park and returned to New York with the team, but the Mets have pushed back his next scheduled start to give him more time to recuperate.

During his first two years in Oakland, Cespedes struggled to stay healthy, battling leg injuries that cost him a chunk of each season. After re-signing with the Mets in 2016, Cespedes again fell victim to a two-year string of muscle pulls.

Rosario misses 2nd game with gastroenteritis

The Mets instructed shortstop Amed Rosario to stay clear of Marlins Park on Tuesday, at least for pregame activities. A late scratch from Monday's lineup, Rosario spent that night at the University of Hospital, where doctors treated him for gastroenteritis. He did not sleep at the hospital, but spent all of Tuesday holed up at the team hotel.

Harvey at a loss to explain struggles

Approximately 20 minutes after the Mets dropped a 13-1 game to the Marlins on Monday, Matt Harvey emerged from a back room of the visiting clubhouse. A staff member indicated that a group of media members was waiting to speak to him. Harvey shrugged his shoulders.

The All-Star slugger energized the lineup in his return, launching a three-run homer and finishing with four RBIs in a 13-1 win on Monday night at Marlins Park. Marcell Ozuna chipped in with a solo home run -- one of his four hits -- while Dee Gordon also had four hits, including a two-run triple in a seven-run fifth inning.

Marlins Park's retractable roof was open Monday afternoon, giving the sun an avenue to beat down on Noah Syndergaard. Dressed in a royal blue T-shirt with the sleeves cut off, Syndergaard twice climbed atop the mound, sweating as he fired 39 pitches in a simulated game.
